'Before the Boudoir' is a regular clothed portrait session that gives you the opportunity to work with me in a less vulnerable situation prior to booking your boudoir photo shoot. This will let you see how I work. You can then decide if you'd like to book your more intimate session. There is no obligation, just take your awesome new portraits and say bye. Should you choose to book your boudoir, your fee will go toward your boudoir product purchases. That's a free photo shoot! These sessions are also great as 'Before' shots if you're working on your body or will soon experience a big life event

Each session includes a pre-session strategy meeting and prep packet, the location of the shoot, hair and makeup, same day reveal and access to my client closet. We'll shoot for up to 2 hours. I will walk you through everything you need to know to get amazing photos. And you get to see your photos the same day! *photos sold separately

FAQ's
How far in advance should I book my session?
Sessions should preferably be booked at least two months in advance to prepare for the shoot. I require prepayment for all sessions so as soon as your session is almost paid off we will schedule a pre-meeting to go over everything you need to know and answer all your questions.
How long will my session last?
The day as a whole will take about 6 hours. It takes approximately one hour for hair and makeup and another 2 of shooting/wardrobe change. Then you'll take a break for about an hour and then return to see your images. It usually takes about an hour to pick images and purchase your package.
Where will it be?
At this time sessions can take place in a hotel room or Airbnb that I’ve booked for the event. I’m not opposed to outdoor environments either. Locations must be vetted by me to ensure the location is suitable for photos.
Will I be completely nude?
Only if you would like to be!
What is the difference between the session and photo packages?
The photo session itself is priced separately from the packages. The session price pays for your shoot location, your hair and makeup, your planning meeting and includes access to my client closet if you'd like to use it. To hold your date you must pay the session fee in full. You can then purchase or start a payment plan on a package. At this time I do require a prepayment for a package, you may choose the lowest and upgrade later. Prior to booking you'll schedule an information call with tons of information including the pricing for the packages. After the session, you will be shown a private gallery to view and pick your favorite shots. Party sessions and couple sessions are priced differently. Payment plans are available!
Will these images be posted online or any social networks?
Only with your permission. I do offer special discounts for clients who allow me to use their photos.
Who else will have access to these images (e.g. editors, album designers)?
Only the printer will see the photos, but know that they are professionals and aren't local!
Will I have the option to use props?
Yes. All props will need to be approved prior to the shoot. Full disclosure, I've never had a client actually purchase the photos that included props. They tend to be awkward. But we can always try!
If it helps, can I bring any alcohol?
No, please arrive for your session bright eyed and clear headed.
Do I have to use the provided professional hair and makeup artist, or can I have my hair and makeup done prior to the session?
Hair and makeup is included in the price. I require that you use my HMUA as she knows what I need for great photos. If you have a concern about something in particular please let me know up front.
What happens if you’re sick or are unable to shoot the session on the scheduled day?
We can reschedule with no new deposit if the cancellations happen in 7 BUSINESS days. If not the deposit will pay for the lost funds. We can try again but a new deposit would need to be paid.
Can my friend come along?
Sure! But if you have any inkling that they will be a distraction or that I may need to redirect your attention please don’t bring them.
How will I know how to pose?
I will direct you to the correct positions. They may feel weird to you but know that what I see through the lens is where you need to be. You can definitely send me photo ideas of things you would like to try and I will do my best to get those poses but I cannot promise them.
How many outfit changes can I have?
Outfits will eat into your session time so be mindful of your choices. I suggest no more than three. Parties are limited to 1 outfit.
I really don’t like “X” about me, can we shoot around it?
If you are self conscious about certain things please let me know during the planning meeting and I will be mindful of it but know that you are lovely and I will showcase that!
I’m a plus size woman, is boudoir still something I should consider?
Most definitely! If you want to do it then nothing should stop you!
I’m not comfortable with some of the poses I see online…
If you have poses you are opposed to you can send them to me in advance. If you are just a little on the fence maybe we can try the poses and worse case they won’t make it to your picks. Trust me though, We will still get great shots!
Can this session be done at my house?
No. Due to the continuing global pandemic it is best that I stay out of your dwelling, for your safety and mine.
I don’t have any ultra-sexy lingerie, what else could I wear?
Beautiful lingerie is great but I’m showcasing you. A simple bra and underwear can still be sexy. You can always go nude and use sheets to cover up. The possibilities are endless! Visit my blog for articles about lingerie and what to wear! I also offer a client closet that is included in the session cost.
How many photos do you typically take during the session?
I will end up taking hundreds of shots but only a fraction will make the cut. The number of photos you take home depends on the product options you choose. Usually I narrow it down to around 30-45 shots to choose from and my packages start at 10 photos.
Do you offer professional retouching (e.g. fat reductions, zit removal, stretch mark removal)?
I will remove blemishes in editing but things like fat or stretch marks are part of you and they are beautiful whether you like them or not. I will pose you to a flattering position to avoid fat rolls and I can soften stretch marks but that is as far as I will go.
Do you bring an assistant with you?
Yes. I will have a female with me who I trust to help me.
What type of payments do you accept?
I send an invoice for the session fee. The products can be purchased in multiple ways.
